Need a large crossover SUV for hauling the family or taking on weekend campouts? If so, check out the 2017 Buick Enclave, one of the most regal eight-passenger crossovers of the new model year. The new Buick Enclave is plentiful with its cargo room and passenger space, offering a smooth ride regardless of whether you're driving smooth pavement or dirt roads. While the Enclave's power and performance aren't exceptional, they're on par with most competitors and more than adequate for a crossover SUV of this price range. The Enclave also gets a new trim for 2017 in addition to two other attractive trim levels. Want to take a test drive? Read on to learn more about the new Buick Enclave.
The new Enclave is offered in three trim levels: the Convenience, Leather and Premium trims. The base trim lacks many features of the upper trim levels but still offers plenty of benefits for drivers who don't plan on hauling loads or traveling inclement road conditions.
The new Enclave comes stock with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 288 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. There are no upgrade options.
Standard equipment on the base Convenience trim includes 19-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, automatic xenon headlights, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, cruise control, heated side mirrors and more.
The 2017 Buick Enclave gets EPA fuel ratings of 18 mpg combined. It is estimated at 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Upgrade to all-wheel drive and the gas mileage dips slightly to 17 mpg combined.
The two upper trim levels can be equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels, a rear-seat entertainment system, a sunroof and towing hardware. There are also two sport-oriented packages that add unique trim flourishes.
The Leather trim gets all the features of the Convenience trim in addition to leather upholstery, eight-way adjustments for the front seat, a heated steering wheel and front seats and blind-spot warnings with traffic alerts. It's a good step up from the basics.
The 2017 Buick Enclave offers plenty of room for up to eight passengers. The first and second rows have lots of headroom and legroom, though taller adults may feel slightly cramped in the second-row seats. The third-row seats are more than suitable for most teens and young adults.
The Premium trim gets everything from the Convenience and Leather trims in addition to chrome-clad alloy wheels, forward collision alerts, ventilated front seats, power-folding mirrors, adaptive headlights, a power-adjusted steering column and more. This trim also gets navigation and a premium 10-speaker Bose surround stereo system.
