The hottest (pun intended) trend in beverages is cold brew coffee. This new trend is actually an old method. Cold brewing has been around for years. However, the cost of making the brew was expensive and only the affluent would have the option to enjoy it. Now due to mass production, this amazing drink is available to everyone. How does one find this amazing elixir of life? You now have the option to purchase from your local coffee shop, buy it in bottles at your local high-end grocery store or make your own. Just be aware that if you're making your own it's going to be more of an over night for a couple of days and not a wake up and make kind of process. If you prefer the later then head to someplace like Starbucks or Peet's Coffee. Which ever way you decide to imbibe be ready to have your world rocked.
Well, first of all… it’s coffee, so duh. Second, this methoddoesn’t use heat so the coffee is less acidic and has a smoother taste. It’snow more popular than regular iced coffee due to the cleaner taste and lack ofthe need to use ice cubes.
The bottled versions will run between $2.50-$5 for a single serving. Starbucks is planning on releasing a lager container which will serve 6. No price has been published for that option yet. If you stop into your local coffee shop expect to pay about the same as the bottled version. However, the coffee shops have more options on serving size so you can decide just how much you want to pay. If you make your own, a cup might run you as much as fifty-cents.
Just like any other coffee drink shots of liquid flavoring can be added. Although most coffee shops don't use flavored coffee for their base, you may choose to do so at home. Cold brew already has a sweetness to it, due to the lack of the acids, so you might want to taste test before you add anything.
