There are two engine options on the 2017 Camry but the 2.5-liter, four cylinder is the standard engine on all models. Producing 178 horsepower and 170-pound feet of torque, is it connected to a shiftable, six-speed transmission that drives the front wheels. Optional on the XSE and XLE trim levels, is a beefier 3.5-liter V6 that produces 268 horsepower and 248-pound feet of torque, mated to the same six-speed gearbox.
The Camry LE is the base model of this lineup and offers may features that make it more comfortable, than last year’s model. Sitting on 16-inch steel wheels the LE offers power front seats, sunroof, auto headlights, heated rearview mirror, keyless remote entry and a rearview camera. The sound system works through the Entune system, with a 6.1-touchscreen interface, six speakers, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Offering the same equipment as the Camry LE, the Camry SE adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, cruise and audio controls at your fingertips. The wheels that the SE sits on are 17-inch alloys, and it is equipped with sport-tuned suspension, for better handling. The upholstery of the SE gets upgraded cloth, and simulated leather, which gives the cabin a richer feel.
